WVVC Club Team vs. Regional Team: Understanding the Differences

At WVVC, we offer two team options: the Club Team and the Regional Team. The Club Team is focused on local tournaments, providing competitive play with a lower travel commitment and cost, making it ideal for players balancing other commitments. The Regional Team, however, competes in a wider range of regional tournaments, demanding a higher level of play and greater travel commitment. This team is designed for athletes seeking more intensive training and broader competition. Both teams receive high-quality coaching and skill development tailored to their level of commitment. How much does it cost to join?

How are teams selected?

Our team selections consider a range of factors, including athletic skill, position, effort, attitude, and stamina. During tryouts, coaches carefully assess players based on performance and potential. This year, we are only taking two 14U boys teams: one regional travel team and one local club team. For more details, please refer to the "Teams" tab. Player positions are assigned according to team needs and individual abilities, so athletes may be placed in roles different from those they play on their high school teams.

How many players are on a team?

Approximately 10-12 players are chosen for each team.

What tuition covers:  

Gym space, Liability Insurance, Equipment, Coaches fees and travel expenses, Administration, Tournament Entry fees and Uniforms (2 shirts, and shorts.)

What tuition does not include:

Tuition does not cover travel costs to and from tournaments, hotel stays, or meals. Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to all tournaments. For overnight events, we aim to book hotels that provide breakfast with the room. (please click more+ and go to calendar to view registered events and hotel booking information) More details will be shared at the parent meeting on tryout day.

Are there payment plan options?

Yes, we offer payment plans for athletes who need it. Please click on the “teams” tab and scroll to the bottom of the page for more information. 

What is a team parent?

A team parent is a responsible adult assigned to each team and serves as a liaison between players, parents, coaches and directors, and helps keep the culture high in the program. Team parent will also help coordinate player carpool for tournaments. If you are interested in volunteering to be a team parent, please email dustinprice@westvalleyvbc.com.

When and where do you practice?

Wednesdays 5-7pm and Sundays 4-6pm at 115 Torne Valley Road Hillburn NY 10931.
